The Latino Caucus <br /> will be hosting a forum on civic engagement,while Ca(ifornia Assembly Majority Leader Karen <br /> Bass will lead a discussion on"The 5tate of Black California"f4r the African American Caucus. <br /> The Latino Caucus event is scheduled May 16 from 9 a.m.to noon. Experts wiU present <br /> information on how to utilize data to identify voter turn aut, prepare micro-1eve1 politicaf anafysis <br /> and determine how California's growing diversity impacts elections across#he state and in loca! <br /> d istricts. <br /> Engaging the Latino community on pofitical issues continues to be a key priority. There are 2.5 <br /> million Latino registered voters in Caiifornia and 500,a40 more Latinos voted in 2006 than in <br /> 2000. Projections are that potentially two million more Latino adults are efigible to become <br /> citizens in California and vote in the 2008 elections. <br /> Guest speakers at the Latino Caucus event include: <br /> • Sen.
