5. SPECIAL ORDERS: <br /> Presentation — Port of Redwood City— Ferry Service <br /> Port of Redwood City Commission Chair Jack Castle gave an update on the efforts to <br /> bring ferry service to Redwood City (PowerPoint presentation on file). <br /> Dale Reynolds, Redwood City resident, stated that there had been a major fire at <br /> Seaport over the weekend that closed down the area for a long length of time. He asked <br /> if another major fire occurred and the area were closed down to ferry commuters what <br /> would happen. <br /> 6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR - CITY <br /> COUNCIL/REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD <br /> M/S Aguirre/Bain to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by <br /> title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. The motion <br /> passed by a unanimous roll call vote with Item 6.1.E removed for separate <br /> consideration. <br /> Pamela Estes, speaking on behalf of the Redwood City Education Foundation (RCEF), <br /> stated that it is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to providing students <br /> of Redwood City school district with a strong education that lays a foundation for future <br /> success. On Wednesday, evening at 5:30 p.m., April 25 at McCaw Hall, RCEF <br /> announced partnership with the Stanford University School of Education to present a <br /> forum, °�Benefit for a Brighter Future : Investing in Innovation", of which all are invited. <br /> She further named the various speakers and itinerary for the evening.
