6.2A <br /> Page 1 <br /> R�PORT <br /> To fihe Honorable N1.ayor and Ci#y C+oun�it <br /> � FrQm the �ity' Mana�pr� <br /> May 21, 2007 <br /> SUBJECT <br /> Final Acceptance — 468 Grand Street Improvements (Redeemer �utheran Church) <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Accept, by motion, the consfiruction improvements for 46$ Grand Street and release the <br /> security deposit fol{owing the City's receipt of a mainfienance bond in the amount of <br /> $31,510.00 in accardance with the Agreement for construction improvements. <br /> BACKGROUPID <br /> On July 7, 20�4, the City Council approved the Agreement for construction <br /> improvements for the Redeemer Lutheran Church building project at 468 Grand Street. <br /> The Church has completed the construction in accordance with the plans and <br /> specifications, and to the satisfaction of Engineering & Construction Services. <br /> The City approved permits for construction at 468 Grand Street and required the Church <br /> to instal! new fire services, ADA curb ramps, curb and gutter, sidewalks, sewer laterals, <br /> street lighting, and pave portions of Grand and Hudson streets. The Church provided a <br /> securi#y deposit in the amaunt of $315,000.00, performed the work, and is required to <br /> submit a maintenance bond to cover work performed in the amount af$31,51�.00. The <br /> City is obligated to release the securifiy bond when the maintenance bond is received. <br /> ALTERNATEVES <br /> Council may elect no#to accept the construction improvements which would be cantrary <br /> to the provisions in ihe existing �greement for tne construciion impravements. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> There is no fiscal impact as a result of th�s action. The maintenance bond will be held <br /> for one year, after which time, the maintenance of the required improvements wi11 <br /> become the City's responsibility. <br /> o Lync , P.
