Ho#el rooms in Sacramento are extremely <br />~ limited, so please take a moment now and ensure that you and the other <br />~Califor»ia ~ individuals from your city are registered for the conference and have <br />f`ctare housing. <br />_. <br />~~ :: <br />;mac <br />A tentative schedule for the annual conference is located at <br /> wr~,~v. ~cities.orcl/sc. <br />3rd Annual Finance Leaders Summit Held in Sacramento <br />Leaders of government and nonprofit organizations concerned with local agency finance issues <br />convened in Sacramento on May 17, for the 3rd Annual California Government Finance Leaders <br />Summit. <br />Participants discussed a number of shared concerns and proposed activities, irKaluding: <br />• Promoting best practices for recruiting the next generation of local agency finance <br />professionals <br />• Hefging local agencies ad~ess the fiscal impact of funding public sector retiree health care <br />and other non-pension benefits <br />• Surveying local agency finance professionals to identify priorities for training, education and <br />professional development <br />• t~eveloping a Gearinghouse of legislative tracking resources <br />Updates on these activities wf11 be posted on the Institute for Local Government's Web site, <br />www~ca-itg.arc~, as they occur. <br />The summit was hosted by the California Sodety of Municipal Finance Officers, the California <br />Municipal Treasurers Association and the Institute for Local Government (ILG). 1LG is the <br />nonprofit research affiliate of the League of California Cities and the California Sate Association <br />of Counties. <br />For more information, contact Charles Summerell at (916) 658-8259, or summerc~c ca-itg.ora. <br />Open and Public IV Now AvaHable <br />Open and Public N: A Guide to the Ralph M.
