Redwood City, and provision for necessary public utilities and facilities; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such included uses, accommodations, utilities and <br />facilities should give due regard to the sensitive bayland habitat of Bair <br />Island; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. This Council hereby endorses the purchase of Bair Island by <br />POST for ultimate transfer to the federal govemment for preservation of <br />open space and wildlife habitat; provided, that such use shall include <br />public access for viewing the habitat areas and for compatible recreational <br />uses, accommodation of vehicular passage between adjoining <br />communities and between portions of the City of Redwood City, including <br />the Redwood Shores area of this City, and provision for convenient and <br />necessary access to, and the operation, maintenance, repair, <br />replacement, and construction of, existing and future public utilities <br />required for the public, health, welfare, convenience and necessity, <br />including, but not limited to, existing facilities of the South Bayside System <br />Authority (of which the City of Redwood City is a member agency); <br />provided, further, that such included or additional uses or facilities shall be <br />conducted, or designed and constructed, so as to give due regard to the <br /> <br />Reso-171 2 <br />F/Shared/Redwood/Council <br />DES:dJk 13 05 2 <br />04/17/97R <br />04/21/97R <br /> <br /> <br />
