7. STAFF REPORT - <br />A. Computer Aided Dispatch software purchase. <br />Police Sergeant Stoney gave the background and explained the proposed <br />purchase. <br />Council Members commented on the 365 -day warranty and final acceptance criteria <br />that provides for a 90 -day test period as adding assurance to be sure the software <br />works properly. <br />Recommendation: <br />M/S Howard /Ira by motion, authorize the purchase of computer aided dispatch <br />software with records management and mobile date terminal field report writing <br />capabilities from Sun Ridge Systems Incorporated, at the cost of $633,062, under <br />the Cooperative Purchase Agreement of the City of Foster City, Purchase Order <br />#161139. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. (706) <br />MINUTE ORDER 07 -089 <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST — <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub - section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 17 -2007 and 18 -2007. Council may direct staff to act on <br />positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus <br />available in City Clerk's Department). <br />B. Appointments to City Council- appointed Boards, Committees, and <br />Commission <br />Mayor Pierce stated that the Board, Committee and Commission members play a <br />key role that often includes doing the groundwork, advising for expenditure of <br />funds, and setting direction for the community. Redwood City is fortunate to have <br />so many people that have volunteered to serve in a long and distinguished <br />manner. It is the Council's task to ensure that the community going forward is <br />vibrant and caring, that they provide the most diverse leadership, and the best set <br />of opinions. She acknowledged the current members who have served and <br />thanked them for their work, ensuring them that there are many opportunities in <br />the future for them to be involved.
