City of New London. Assembly Member Hector De La Torre (D-Los
Angeles) has introduced that package as author of both ACA 8 and AB 887. Actions were taken
on both bills in recent days, as well as another constitutional amendment the League opposes:

ACA 8 (De La Torre). This League-supported constitutional amendment would limit the ability of
local agencies to take owner occupied homes for purposes related to economic development.
Last week ACA 8 passed out of the Assembly Committee on Judiciary and has been referred to
the Assembly Committee on Local Government. The League's executive committee
reluctantly took an .oppose unless amended" position prior to Monday's hearing, For more, see
Page 2.

....................................

PROPOSITION 1 B IMPLEMENTATION UPDATE
Proposition 1 B Related Bills Move Closer to the Governor's Desk

Legislative hearings this week resulted in several Proposition 18 implementation bills moving
closer to the Governor's desk.
