<br />services being utilized by Redwood City residents, provide for an audit by the <br />Finance Director, and confirm collection of the existing tax. <br /> <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST - <br /> <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 23-2007. Council may direct staff to act on positions <br />taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus available in <br />City Clerk's Department). <br /> <br />B. Council Member Bain - spoke about the parking meters, requesting simplification <br />of screens by the vendor for use as the more traditional parking meters. <br /> <br />C. Mayor Pierce - proposed options for interviewing Community Tree Board <br />applicants. Consensus for using the traditional format of applicants interviewing <br />before the entire Council was expressed. <br /> <br />D. Vice Mayor Foust - stated that on Thursday, June 28 from 5-6:30 at the Hotel <br />Sofitel the official kick-off of the Recycled Water Project would take place. She also <br />suggested having commercials from the various restaurants and food vendors prior <br />to the Downtown concerts along with other announcements. <br /> <br />E. Council Member Howard - stated that as a member of the Charter Amendments <br />ad hoc committee, she is confident with Vice Mayor Foust bringing forward the <br />recommendations on July 9, although Council Member Howard will not be present. <br /> <br />F. Council Member Hartnett - stated that a recommendation is coming forward to <br />modify the terms of the Library Board, Planning Commission and Port Commission <br />to be consistent at 4-year terms. He further stated that he and Council Member Ira <br />as liaisons would be meeting prior to July 9 with the Port representatives on the <br />concern of reducing the Board's terms and other issues. <br /> <br />9. ADJOURNMENT - 10:55 p.m. <br /> <br />M/S Aguirre/Foust to adjourn to the next regular meeting of the City Council on July 9, <br />2007.
