<br />ORIGlt~;~L <br /> <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN REDWOOD CITY 2020, THROUGH ITS FISCAL AGENT, <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND SEQUOIA HEAL THCARE DISTRICT <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered in this J::i day of July, 2007, by and <br />between REDWOOD CITY 2020, through its fiscal agent, the CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, a charter city and municipal corporation of the State of California ("City"),; <br />SEQUOIA HEAL THCARE DISTRICT, all of which entities are referred to collectively as <br />"the Parties." <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1995 the City, Redwood City Elementary School District <br />(Elementary School District), Sequoia Union High School District (High School District) <br />and County of San Mateo (County) formed Redwood City 2020 (formerly known as <br />Redwood City 2000) to provide leadership and oversight necessary to develop a <br />coordinated system from birth to 1 ih grade to strengthen academic and social <br />outcomes for children and youth and provide valuable resources to families so they can <br />be successful primary caregivers to their children, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, each year, since the formation of Redwood City 2020, the City, <br />Elementary School District, High School District and County have renewed the <br />Redwood City 2020 partnership by formal agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in June 2005, Sequoia Healthcare District became a partner in <br />Redwood City 2020; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Parties desire to renew the Redwood City 2020 formation <br />agreement for Fiscal Year 2007-2008 <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS <br />AND CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Purpose. The Parties are entering into this Agreement for the sole <br />purpose of providing assistance to, and allowing the establishment of, Redwood City <br />2020. Redwood City 2020 exists for two major purposes: <br /> <br />a. To provide a forum wherein representatives of public entities can <br />work together and with members of the private sector, business and the <br />community at large to improve the quality of life in Redwood City. <br />b. To provide oversight to the work of ongoing collaborative efforts <br />and programs within the City that are working toward quality of life <br />improvements. <br /> <br />Atty/Agr/RC2020 Master Agreement <br />040104 <br />
