desire of this Council to award the contract for emergency replacement to Cai <br /> <br />North Engineering, Inc. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The potential leakage and overflow of raw sewerage creates and <br />emergency. <br /> <br /> 2. The emergency created by the potential leakage and overflow of raw <br />sewerage dictates the immediate expenditure of public money to safeguard <br />health and property. <br /> <br /> 3. The public interest and necessity dictate that the solicitation and <br />advertising for bids be suspended. <br /> <br /> 4. The bid of Cai-North Engineering, Inc., in the amount of One Hundred <br />Five Thousand Four Hundred Fifty and No/100 Dollars ($105,450.), computed in <br />accordance with said bidder's proposal dated December 17, 1996, for the <br />Jefferson Avenue Sewer Main Replacement Project, is hereby accepted. <br /> <br /> 2. That certain agreement entitled, "Agreement" (form dated 1/8/97) by <br />and between the City of Redwood City, a municipal corporation of the State of <br />California and Cai North Engineering, Inc. a copy of which agreement is on file <br />in the office of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the full <br />particulars thereof, is hereby approved, and the City Manager and City Clerk are <br /> <br />G/Sh/RWC/C/R/ <br />FXS~s <br />1/8/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
