<br />Position Presented by City Staff <br /> <br />· Excerpt from City Report regarding the appeal <br /> <br />- With regards to the caretaker's unit at the SafKeep, staff has <br />confirmed that a caretaker's unit does exist at this industrial <br />facility, and is located on the second floor in the front of the <br />building facing Middlefield Road. This property is within the <br />unincorporated San Mateo County, not the City limits. The <br />property is zoned by the County for industrial users. In Redwood <br />City, caretaker's units are considered an acceptable accessory <br />for storage facilities, but are given no special consideration with <br />regard to noise. They are considered part of the industrial use. <br />In addition, the City does not have restrictions on noise levels in <br />industrial zones, only residential zones. <br />
