Weare hereby requesting an increase to our total contract budget <br />of $14,000 (from a total of $190,213 to $204,213). <br /> <br />These funds would cover additional work required revising the transportation section, proposed <br />parking, and landscape mitigation prior to circulation of the Draft EIR. Additional coordination <br />with City staff and the project applicant's team was also required to complete revisions to the <br />Administrative Draft EIR and an amendment to the Draft EIR. An amendment to the Draft EIR <br />was also prepared. This contract amendment does not include any additional work by technical . <br />subconsultants. I <br /> <br />Preparation of the Draft EIR required substantially more time and effort than was contemplated <br />when we prepared our original scope of services in October 2004, and the first amendment to the <br />contract in September 2006. Additional meetings, phone calls, and written communications <br />were required to move the environmental review for this project forward. Due to the extra work <br />that was required to complete the Draft EIR, budget that was allocated to prepare the Final EIR <br />has already been used. <br /> <br />As of March 30, 2007, $10,939 remains in our contract for work to be completed. Although the <br />comment period on the Draft EIR has not ended, we estimate that approximately $24,000 will be <br />required for work on the amendment to the Draft EIR, ongoing coordination, and to complete <br />responses to comments and print and distribute the Final EIR. Weare requesting a budget <br />amendment at this time to avoid delays in completing the Final EIR. As with our existing <br />agreement, this work will be done on a time and materials basis, commensurate with work <br />completed. In the event fewer hours are required to complete the Final EIR than we have <br />projected, we will only bill for the actual time spent to complete the work.
