<br />08/14/2007 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14798 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 14796 OF THE <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY SUBMITTING TO THE <br />QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY AT THE NOVEMBER 6, 2007 <br />CONSOLIDATED GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION A MEASURE <br />RELATED TO THE CITY'S UTILITY USERS TAX <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 9, 2007, the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br />adopted Resolution No. 14796 submitting the Communications Users' Tax to the <br />electors of the City of Redwood City at the consolidated General Municipal Election; and <br />WHEREAS, subsequent to submission of Resolution NO.14796 to the San Mateo <br />County Assessor Clerk-Record and Elections Office, it was discovered that the number <br />of words contained in the proposed ballot measure exceeded the seventy-five word <br />limit; and <br />WHEREAS, in all other respects Resolution No.14796, is true and correct; and <br />WHEREAS, the ballot measure has been amended to comply with the seventy- <br />five word limit. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 3 of Resolution No. 14796 shall be amended to read in its <br />entirety as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Pursuant to Elections Code Section 9222, the City Council hereby <br />submits the Ordinance to the votes at the Election and orders the following question to <br />be submitted to the voters at the Election: <br /> <br />Shall Ordinance No. 2316 be adopted to reduce the rate of Redwood City's utility <br />users' tax on telecommunication and video services from 5% to 4%; to modernize the <br />telecommunication and video service definitions so that taxpayers are treated the same <br />regardless of technology used; which tax has been used to maintain the city's storm <br />drain system, repair broken sidewalks and repave city streets with all expenditures <br />subject to annual audit? <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
