6.2 B <br /> Page 11 <br /> When the employee's vacation Ieave is converted to sick Eeave, the appropriate <br /> vacation credlt shall be restored to the emp{oyee's earned vacation ba{ance, and <br /> a reasonable opportunity to utilize fihis vacation tredit shal! be provided within <br /> the City's existing practices in order ta avoid loss of vaCation credit. <br /> b. In-Lieu Hours - In-Lieu Hours are established ta recognize the inherent and <br /> distinctive terms and conditions of employment of Executive Management <br /> classifications. These positions are distinguished from a!! other merit system <br /> positions in �hat they serve solely afi the pleasure af the City Manager or <br /> appointing authority in an exempt at wilf capacity, they may be removed without <br /> cause, and they are expected to work on call numeraus hours beyond the regular <br /> work week without any additional fiorm of compensation. <br /> In partial recagnition of the extra work haurs expected of these qasitions, in-lieu <br /> hours are estabfished. Executive Management is eligibfe to receive ane hundred <br /> sixty {160) hours per calendar year of in-iieu hours. This leave may be taken as <br /> time off, paid in cash for any portion of this leave remaining as of December 31 <br /> of the calendar year or may go in�o your 4Q1-A account (based on your <br /> enrollment election). N�wly appainted Executive Management employees who <br /> have served less than one full calendar year may receive a prorated portion of <br /> this leave at the discretion of the City Manager. <br /> c.
