The published codes <br /> are the nnty o�cial representation of the law. 12efer to thepublished codes whenever specific citations are <br /> required. <br /> (5) Estimates the aggregate cost and the cost per customer of utilizing the teehnology <br /> deseribed in paragraph(4),if any,to reduce the concentration of that contaminant in drinking <br /> water to a level at or beIow the public health goal. <br /> (6) Briefly describes what action,if any,the local water purveyor intends to take to <br /> reduce the cancentration of the contaminant in public drinking waier supplies and the basis for <br /> that decision. <br /> (c)Public water systems required to prepare a re��ort pursuant to subdivision(b) shall hold a <br /> pu�lic hearing for the purpose af accepting and respondin�to public comment on the report. <br /> PubIic water systems may hold the pnhlic hearing as part of any regularly scheduled rneeting. <br /> �d}The depariment shali noi require a public waier system to take any aciion io reciuce or <br /> eIilninata any excecdance of a pablic health goal. <br /> (e)Enforcement of this section does��.ot require the departznent to amend a public water <br /> system's opera�ing permit. <br /> {��ending adoption of a public healfh goal by ihe Of�ce of Environrnental Health Hazard <br /> Assessment pursuant to subdivision (c) of Sectian ll6365, and in lieu tllereof,public water <br /> systems shall use the national maximum contaminant level goal adopted by the United Sta#es <br /> Environmental Protection Agency for the corresponding contaminant for purposes of complying <br /> with the notice and hearing requirements of this section. <br /> (g)T'his section is intended to provide an alternative form for the federally required <br /> consamer confidence report as authorized by 42 U.S,C.
