News from the Port of Redwood City <br /> Contact: Mike Giari, Executive Director, 650-306�150, or <br /> mqiari(c�redwoodcitvport.com <br /> New Study Identifies Location and Cost for <br /> Port of Redwood City Ferry Terminal <br /> Westpoint Slough, at the very eastern end of Seaport Boulevard and the Poit of <br /> Redwood City, offers the best location and shortest transit tiine for coinmuter feriy <br /> service, according to a new study to be presented to the Poi�t Commission and City <br /> Council. <br /> The report will be unveiled at the Redwood City Council Monday niglrt (Sept. 10) <br /> at its regular 7 p.m. council meetiiig. <br /> Port Commission Chairman Lewis Miller said that pinpointin�the best site for a <br /> ferry terminal will put the port in a state of readiness as fiiiiding becomes available for <br /> facilities coiistructioi7 asid vessel operations. <br /> The port is part of the plan for expanded water transit service ii7 the San Francisco <br /> Bay Area adopted by the Bay Area Water Tra�isit Authority. The plan envisions service <br /> starting in Redwood City in 2012.
