EXHIBIT A <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />SENIOR BUILDING INSPECTOR <br />Abilitv to: <br />Oversee and review the work of others. <br />Evaluate and improve systems and procedures in a Building Department. <br />Apply technical knowledge and follow proper inspection techniques to examine <br />workmanship and materials, and detect deviations from plans, regulations and <br />standard construction practices. <br />Perform journey level inspection skills in a variety of specialty trade areas and <br />perform competent and efficient work as a combination Building Inspector. <br />Enforce a variety of related city codes. <br />Determine that construction systems conform to City code requirements. <br />Analyze, interpret, and accurately check building plans, specifications, and building <br />codes. <br />Advise on standard construction methods and requirements. <br />Make arithmetical computations rapidly and accurately. <br />Enforce necessary regulations with firmness and tact. <br />Apply city codes and policies regarding zoning, environmental matters, and other <br />regulations to field situations. <br />Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. <br />Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with <br />those contacted in the course of work. <br />Skill to: <br />Operate a motor vehicle safely. <br />Effectively organize schedules, files, projects, inspections, and technical data. <br />Proficiently operate personal computer and building permit computer systems. <br />Experience and Training Guidelines: <br />3 <br />14115 <br />
