On September
10, 2018, the Magical Bridge Playground construction project was awarded to Robert A. Bothman
Construction ("Bothman") for the base bid amount of $5,553,436.00, and, as standard practice, the award
also approved a ten percent (10%) contingency, an amount of $555,343.00.
Although five bid alternates were presented as possible added items to the base bid, no bid alternates
were awarded. The five bid alternates included site improvements and site furnishings that included a
pre -fabricated restroom building, carpentry, boulders, large trees and plants, soil, plant installation, BBQs,
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
275
