7.A. - Page 12 of 12 <br />Transportation Advisory Committee <br />Priority List <br />The Transportation Advisory Committee has identified the following priorities to focus on during 2019-2020: <br />1, <br />Committee charter: <br />Recommend creation of a Transportation Advisory Committee <br />2. <br />Outreach and educational efforts to support RCSD school consolidation: <br />Help Redwood City 2020 to identify new bike routes to schools, lead group rides with parents and students, help with outreach to PTAs <br />3, <br />Liaison assignments to regional committees and working groups: <br />Identify committee liaisons for regional projects and working groups such as Dumbarton Transportation project Caltrain Business Plan, Ferry Feasibility <br />Study, C/CAG BPAC, Safe Routes to School Task force, MTC, SMCTA, etc. <br />4, <br />Peninsula Bikeway: <br />Help with community outreach for the upcoming Peninsula Bikeway Alignment Alternatives Study <br />S. <br />Explore feasibility of the east -west bike boulevard: <br />Work with staff and help with community outreach to explore and plan for an east -west bike boulevard from Downtown to Alameda de las Pulgas, <br />crossing EI Camino Real and connecting to Red Morton Park and neighborhood schools <br />Monitoring and reporting toward vision zero goal: <br />6. <br />Take action on RWCMoves goal to develop a monitoring system toward Vision Zero (project # 117) <br />�' <br />New and emerging transportation options such as pilot bike share program: <br />Explore new transportation options for Redwood City such as pilot bike share program, help staff to develop a permit processfor bike share companies <br />8. <br />Ongoing work items (As -needed) <br />RWCmoves: Support implementation of the citywide transportation plan. <br />Development protects and plans: Review development projects and plans to ensure appropriate consideration of pedestrians, bicyclists, and those with <br />mobility needs. Example: Roosevelt Traffic Calming Plan <br />Codes and ordinances: Review City Municipal Code and Zoning Ordinances related to pedestrian and bicycle issues to ensure they are up to date and <br />reflect best practices, recommend changes, if needed <br />Community outreach and education: Meet with Neighborhood Associations to share information on transportation projects and solicit neighborhood <br />feedback <br />Annual paving plan: Review the City's annual paving plan to identify low cost opportunities to improve lane striping, crosswalks, or add shared lane <br />markings. Also review the County paving plan for opportunities in unincorporated areas. <br />Capital improvement plan: Review and recommend capital improvements to pedestrian, bicycle, and transit facilities <br />Grant applications: Review, prioritize, and endorse grant applications for pedestrian and bicycle projects <br />Coordination: Coordinate with Redwood City 2020, Redwood City School District and Redwood Shores Elementary on Safe Routes to School projects and <br />goals <br />Metrics: Gather metrics on pedestrian, bicycle, and transit usage <br />325 <br />
