These project merits include affordable housing, child care, retail opportunities, and a mix of <br />residential and employment opportunities in proximity to transit (Attachment A). <br />PLANNING COMMISSION HEARING <br />Planning Commission considered this item at their April 24, 2019 public hearing. Six members of the public <br />spoke in support of the item. The Planning Commission asked questions regarding on-site remediation, <br />affordable housing amenities, railway operations, and public outreach process, among other topics. The <br />Planning Commission unanimously recommended that City Council approve the project, including the <br />resolution certifying the EIR and adopting the statement of overriding considerations. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />This project has received extensive community input. The applicant has held a series of meetings to receive <br />feedback and inform the public about the project. AAC has reviewed the project twice over the course of <br />2018, and the project has gone to Planning Commission three times for comments relating to the EIR scope <br />and analysis, as well as the project entitlements. <br />Each of these public hearings, including this City Council hearing, included standard noticing practice as <br />follows: Ten days prior to the hearing date, notice of this hearing is posted on the City's website, published <br />in the newspaper, and sent to all owners or residents of property located within 300 feet of the project <br />site, including any interested person who requested a notice. Information about the project has been <br />posted on the City's website at www.redwoodcity.org/developmentpro*ects <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1. Request modifications to the proposed project. <br />2. Identify areas of additional environmental analysis. <br />3.
