These rates were adopted pursuant to Article XIIID of the California Constitution. <br />See "CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITATIONS ON APPROPRIATIONS - Articles XIIIC and XIIID" in the <br />forepart of this Official Statement. <br />Currently, the City is in the process of setting future rates, with new rates to take effect July 1, 2019 <br />following a comprehensive rate study and public input process in compliance with Article XIIID of the <br />California Constitution. The Redwood City Council's Utilities Committee approved proposing 4.5% rate <br />increases for each of fiscal years 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22. The City expects to hold a hearing in May <br />2019, in compliance with Article XIIID of the California Constitution, and the City expects such three-year <br />increases to be adopted by the Redwood City Council thereafter.
