Similarly, there are 310 units affordable to owners earning up to 50% of median
(very low income) but about 1,300 households in this categories. These disparities illustrate the need
for housing available to lower income households -- and that people of lower incomes are not currently
living in housing that is affordable to them. As shown in earlier data, many households are overpaying
for housing.
11
Income Categoy
Renter
Units
Renter HH
Surplus/
(Shortfall)
Owner
Units
Owner
HH
Surplus/
(Shortfall)
30% HAMFI
546
3,271
-2,731
No Data
869
N/A
50% HAMFI
1,865
2,243
-438
310
1,317
-1,007
80% HAMFI
7,800
2,932
4,868
675
2,038
-1,363
100% HAMFI
No Data
1,171
N/A
880
1,374
-494
Total
10,145
9,617
1,565
.5,595
1 1
19
n
Surplus/Shortfall of Units
Monthly Rent
Monthly Rent ($)
Efficiency (no
bedroom)
1 Bedroom
2 Bedroom
3 Bedroom
4 Bedroom
Fair Market Rent
1,412
1,814
2,289
2,987
3,556
Consolidated Plan REDWOOD CITY 74
OMB Control No: 2506-0117 (exp. 06/30/2018)
436
