EXHIBIT A — SERVICES <br />In consideration of the payments set forth in Exhibit B, Contractor shall provide the following <br />services: <br />DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY CONTRACTOR <br />Contractor will conduct pre-employment background investigations on potential employees <br />(candidates) for the Redwood City Police Department. Services include, but are not limited to: <br />1.) Background Investigation <br />• Detailed Personal History Statement (PHS) <br />• In-depth candidate interview <br />• Reference interviews <br />• Current & past employer checks <br />• Candidate debrief <br />2.) Records Checks <br />• Criminal Convictions <br />• Driving Record <br />• Outstanding Warrants <br />• Credit Check <br />• Sex Offender Registration <br />• Education Verification <br />• Social Security Verification <br />• Livescan/Fingerprint <br />• Selective Service Registration Verification <br />• Address Verification <br />3.) Other responsibilities of the Contractor <br />• Make contact with the candidate and conduct a thorough background <br />investigation <br />• Identify areas of concern for the polygraph examiner <br />• Immediately notify the Redwood City Police Department if a disqualifying <br />event under POST standards is discovered in a candidate's background <br />• Complete background investigation within 45 days of the date the Personal <br />History Statement is provided to the Contractor <br />• If an extension is required the Contractor will contact the Redwood City Police <br />Department to request the extension with an estimated completion date; <br />extensions will not be granted past 60 days <br />• Submit the completed background investigation report (narrative summary and <br />executive summary) to the Department for review and verification of POST <br />compliance. If any deficiencies are noted, the report will be returned to <br />Contractor for correction prior to submission for final approval via the Redwood <br />City Police Department chain of command <br />Page 7 of 8 <br />REV: 06-03-19 MI <br />ATTY/AGR.2019.168/Blanc Background Investigations <br />
