6.Q. - Page 4 of 24 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AMENDING THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION AND <br />WAGE AND SALARY PLAN TO REINSTATE AND AMEND THE <br />CLASSIFICATION OF POLICE PROPERTY CLERK TO BE <br />RETITLED POLICE EVIDENCE AND PROPERTY CLERK, AND <br />ESTABLISH THE NEW CLASSIFICATIONS OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT 1/11 <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has requested that the classification of Police <br />Property Clerk be reinstated and amended to be retitled Police Evidence and Property <br />Clerk, and the classifications of Parks and Recreation Program Assistant 1/11 be newly <br />established to meet the current and future operational needs for the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the classification specifications as described in Exhibit A were <br />prepared by Human Resources staff in consultation with department management, to <br />ensure the foreseeable needs of the organization were met; and <br />WHEREAS, Human Resources staff conducted salary studies and reached <br />agreement with department management on the recommended salary ranges as listed in <br />Exhibit B; and <br />WHEREAS, the City met and conferred with Service Employees International <br />Union Local 521, and reached agreement on the terms, conditions, and recommended <br />salary ranges as listed in Exhibit B. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby <br />incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br />2. The City's Classification and Wage and Salary Plan is hereby amended to <br />reinstate and amend the classification of Police Property Clerk retitled to Police Evidence <br />and Property Clerk, and to establish the classifications of Parks and Recreation Program <br />Assistant 1/11 as listed in Exhibits A and B, and as listed in the full salary plan attached as <br />Exhibit C. <br />3.
