❑ Receive situation, section and position briefing from available and appropriate personnel <br />❑ Ensure readiness to maintain concise records of position activities <br />• FORM: ICS -214 <br />Response: <br />❑ Establish and maintain a position log and other necessary files <br />❑ In coordination with the Logistics Section, ensure that appropriate staff are available to assist <br />other emergency responders with the operation of heavy equipment <br />❑ Ensure that engineering staff are available to assist the Damage Assessment Unit in inspecting <br />damaged structures and facilities <br />❑ Assure that all public works equipment and material have been moved from unsafe areas <br />❑ As requested, direct staff to provide flood fighting assistance, clear debris from roadways and <br />water ways, assist with utility restoration and build temporary emergency structures <br />❑ In coordination with the Law Enforcement Branch to determine status of the Disaster Routes <br />and other transportation routes into and within the affected area <br />❑ Coordinate with the Law Branch to ensure the safety of evacuation routes following a <br />devastating event <br />❑ Determine present priorities and estimated times for restoration. Clear and reopen Disaster <br />Routes on a priority basis <br />U Coordinate with the Supply Unit of the EOC Logistics Section for sanitation service during an <br />emergency. Work closely with the Logistics Section to provide other support and material <br />❑ Receive and process all requests for Public Works resources <br />❑ Maintain back-up power in the EOC <br />❑ Keep the Building and Engineering Branch Director informed of unit status <br />• REPORT: PUBLIC WORKS STATUS <br />❑ Refer all contacts with the media to the Public Information Officer <br />Shift Change: <br />❑ Provide turnover briefing to position replacement <br />❑ Provide details regarding ongoing activities and planned activities to be accomplished during the <br />upcoming operational period <br />• POSITION JOB AID <br />• FORM: CURRENT ICS -214 <br />❑ Provide all completed documentation to the Documentation Unit <br />Follow EOC check out procedures, including signing out, work station clean-up and forwarding <br />phone number where you can be reached <br />• FORM: ICS -211 <br />C-65 <br />
