• FORM: ICS -214 <br />Response: <br />❑ Establish and maintain a position log and other necessary files <br />❑ Determine the need to staff a task group based on the need for water/power services and secure <br />resources through the Logistics Section <br />❑ Contact the San Mateo County Department of Public Health, local water, electric and gas utility <br />companies, Public Works, Fire Department, Police Department and other sources to compile <br />situation information including: <br />■ Status of systems and estimated duration of any outages <br />■ Geographical area affected <br />■ Population affected <br />■ Actions needed/taken to restore systems <br />■ Resources needed to reactivate systems <br />Water: <br />❑ Determine the cause and extent of water system damage for both potable and fire hydrant <br />systems <br />❑ Determine the emergency potable water needs (quantity and prioritized areas) <br />❑ Notify the Building and Engineering Branch Director of the situation and need for mutual aid. <br />Participate in conference calls as requested <br />❑ Contact County Department of Health Services and request situation reports for affected areas <br />(including information on boil water order areas) <br />❑ Evaluate and prioritize potable water needs (quantity/location/duration—minimum two gallons <br />per person per day) <br />❑ In coordination with the EOC Logistics Section, identify and obtain potable water resources. If <br />necessary, recommend the EOC Director request mutual aid to identify and/or obtain water <br />resources <br />❑ Identify and secure locations for water distribution points (e.g., parks, city facilities, shelters, etc.) <br />❑ In coordination with the EOC Logistics Section, identify and secure staff resources needed to <br />operate water distribution points (if necessary, recommend that the EOC Director request mutual <br />aid to obtain required staff resources) <br />❑ Consult with County Department of Health Services, water utilities and PIO for appropriate public <br />information announcements and media interface <br />❑ Transmit to Finance Section data on costs incurred in efforts to purchase and distribute potable <br />water <br />Power/Gas: <br />C-69 <br />
