Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />WHO Pandemic Phase <br />Strategies/Response <br />Inter -Pandemic Period <br />Phase 1— no new human <br />subtype — animal influenza <br />may be present poses low <br />risk in humans <br />No change in normal business operations. <br />Phase 2 — no new subtype in <br />humans however circulating <br />animal influenza poses <br />substantial risk of human <br />disease <br />Follow the City Plan plus: <br />Aquatics <br />• Identify programs at mass congregational facilities. (Herkner <br />and Hoover Pools) <br />• Develop strategy to suspend all programs and close identified <br />facilities in the event a Phase 5 alert is declared. <br />Pandemic Alert Period <br />Community Centers <br />Phase 3 - new human <br />• Identify programs at mass congregational facilities. (Red <br />subtype no/little human to <br />Morton Community Center, the Veterans Memorial <br />human <br />Senior Center, the Community Activities Building, the <br />Sandpiper Community Center, and the Fair Oaks <br />Community Center) <br />• Develop strategy to suspend all programs and close <br />identified facilities in the event a Phase 5 alert is <br />declared. <br />D-62 <br />
