Guidelines for the EOC Director on Setting Goals and Objectives <br />Setting or reaffirming goals and objectives at the beginning of each shift is the duty of, and must be a top <br />priority for, the EOC Director. <br />Three important guidelines: <br />1. Goals and objectives must be clearly stated, understood and measurable so that the EOC Team <br />may determine the extent to which goals and objectives are accomplished during the current <br />operations shift. <br />2. Goals and objectives must be attainable given the people, equipment and supplies available <br />during that operations shift. <br />3. Goals and objectives must be broad and flexible enough for the Operations Section Chief to <br />achieve them the best way possible. <br />Facilitator: <br />Planning & Intelligence Section Chief <br />Purpose: <br />• Assess previous objectives to determine carry-over items <br />• Identify and prioritize EOC Objectives for the NEXT OPERATIONAL PERIOD <br />• Discuss and resolve limitations in supporting EOC Objectives <br />Operations, Logistics, Finance, Plans, Safety Officer, EOC Coordinator <br />Attendees: <br />(Add members as required) <br />1. <br />Introductions <br />(EOC Management, General Staff and others) <br />❑ <br />2. <br />Discuss current situation and assess previous objectives to determine carry-over <br />❑ <br />items <br />3. <br />Establish and prioritize EOC Objectives for the NEXT OPERATIONAL PERIOD <br />• Management (EOC Coordinator) <br />• Operations (Operations Chief/Coord) <br />• Logistics (Logistics Chief/Coord) <br />❑ <br />• Finance (Finance Chief/Coord) <br />• Planning (Plans Chief/Coord) <br />4. <br />Discuss needs for additional plans (e.g., Evacuation Plan, Traffic Plan, etc.) <br />❑ <br />5. <br />Roundtable and Closing Comments (All) <br />❑ <br />6. <br />Adjourn (Plans) <br />❑ <br />Figure F.2 Objectives Meeting Template <br />Outcome(s): A set of EOC Objectives for the NEXT OPERATIONAL PERIOD <br />Next Step(s): <br />• <br />EOC Director approves EOC Objectives <br />Section Meetings to Prepare for the Strategy Meeting <br />Strategy Meeting time: <br />F-6 <br />
