DOCs to establish triage teams. They may assist the County Coroner for mass casualty operations. They <br />coordinate transportation of injured victims to appropriate medical facilities as required. <br />Emergency Medical Operations Unit <br />The Emergency Medical Operations Unit ensures all available disaster medical resources are identified and <br />mobilized as required. They provide assistance to Incident Command Posts and DOCS in establishing triage <br />teams and determine the status of medical facilities within the affected area. They also coordinate the <br />transportation of injured victims to appropriate medical facilities. <br />Marine Safety Branch <br />The Marine Safety Branch is represented by the Port of Redwood City Executive Director or designee. They <br />coordinate and manage marine oil spills in the Port waterways and represent the City on Unified <br />Commands established under the Oil Spill Act of 1990 or the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002. <br />The Marine Safety Branch provides coordination and strategic management among field mutual aid <br />marine resources and the Logistic Section's Facilities Unit in the event water access is needed to respond <br />to, or recover from disaster events, including evacuation or supply replenishment via the Port in the event <br />roadways are inaccessible. <br />Planning Section <br />The Planning Section collects, evaluates, and disseminates incident situation information and intelligence <br />for the EOC, DOCs and field response incident personnel. The Planning Section prepares status reports, <br />displays situation information, maintains the status of resources assigned to the incident, and prepares <br />and documents the EOC Action Plan, based on Operations Section input and guidance from the Incident <br />Commander/Unified Command. <br />The Planning/Intelligence Section consists of the following ICS positions. Detailed position checklists are <br />contained in Appendix C. <br />Planning Section Chief (PSC) <br />The PSC reports to the EOC Director. The PSC directs the Planning Section to collect, analyze, display and <br />disseminate situation information, prepare situation status reports and develop the EOC Action Plan. They <br />provide for incident documentation collection and maintenance. The PSC supports developing incident <br />analytical tool such as GIS maps and data bases. They are responsible for advanced planning for complex, <br />long -duration incidents. The PSC leads the After -Action Review (AAR) process. <br />Situation Unit <br />The Situation Unit reports to the PSC. They collect, organize, and analyze incident information from all <br />sources. They develop and provide situational awareness based on evaluation of information. The <br />Situation Unit develops status reports, generates data bases, creates displays for dissemination to the EOC, <br />and other organizations. They evaluate field status reports and incident action plans provided by the <br />Operations Section. The Situation Unit works to provide a common operating picture (COP) for <br />development of the EOC Action Plan. <br />59 <br />
