Logistics Support Branch <br />The Logistics Support Branch Director is assigned under the direction of the LSC and is responsible for <br />development and implementation of logistics plans in support of the EOC Action Plan. The Logistics <br />Support Branch Director supervises the operations of the Ground Support, Transportation, <br />Personnel/Volunteers, Facilities and Supply/Procurement Units. <br />Ground Support Unit <br />The Ground Support Unit is responsible for providing transportation of personnel, supplies, food, and <br />equipment. They support fueling, service, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment and other ground <br />support equipment. They maintain information about use of rental equipment and services initiated and <br />requested. They coordinate closely with the Resource Status Unit in the Planning Section. <br />Transportation Unit <br />The Transportation Unit reports to the LSC. The Transportation Unit provides all ground transportation <br />during an incident. In conjunction with providing transportation, the Transportation Unit is also <br />responsible for maintaining and supplying vehicles, keeping usage records, and developing incident traffic <br />plans. <br />Personnel/Volunteers Unit <br />The Personnel/Volunteers Unit reports to the LSC. The Personnel/Volunteers Unit provides staffing <br />resources requested in support of the EOC and Field Operations. They receive and process all incoming <br />requests for personnel and volunteer support, identify, recruit, and register volunteers, and support the <br />City Clerk to affirm volunteers as DSWs. They administer all personnel matters relating to hiring/releasing <br />non -permanent personnel supporting incident response and recovery and manage travel requests and <br />coordinating travel arrangements for personnel supporting operations either in the field or EOC. <br />Facilities Unit <br />The Facilities Unit provides and maintains adequate essential facilities for incident response, including <br />securing access to the staging areas and other field support needs. They deliver staff, furniture, support <br />supplies, and materials as necessary to configure the facilities in a manner adequate to accomplish the <br />mission. They ensure acquired property including buildings and other facilities are returned to their <br />original state when no longer needed. <br />Supply/Procurement Unit <br />The Supply/Procurement Unit reports to the LSC. The Supply/Procurement Unit is responsible for resource <br />management. They Unit identify sources and order incident expendable materials and equipment. They <br />prepare and sign equipment rental agreements in conjunction with the Finance Section. They maintain <br />records of resource requests, resource assignments and manage mutual aid processes. They identify and <br />provide support for staging areas and maintain records of work location activities and resources used. <br />61 <br />
