6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR - CITY COUNCIL/ <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD <br />Matt Leddy speaking as a resident and a member of the Friends of Redwood City <br />applauded the City on its recent nomination of the Downtown Precise Plan as a Priority <br />Development Area (PDA). He explained the nomination process for the PDA program <br />and the Priority Conservation Area (PCA) program. He further announced that on <br />August 17, the Friends of Redwood City teamed up with five other local and regional <br />non - profit organizations to nominate Redwood City Bayfront Tidal Plains as a Priority <br />Conservation Area. A letter requesting City Council support with a resolution, and a <br />copy of the speaker comments were submitted. <br />Linda Jolley stated she had not received a response from the City as Mayor Pierce <br />explained that staff is still gathering information. Ms. Jolley stated that many cities have <br />refused to recognize that there is always a percentage of the population that cannot <br />take care of themselves. Rather than assist folks, some cities choose to drive them out <br />of their cities. She read an excerpt from, the "California Drivers Handbook ", referring to <br />getting off the road to sleep when tired. She stated that if the Police bother her again <br />she will sue the City. <br />M/S Aguirre /Ira to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by <br />title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. Item 6.1.13 was <br />continued to a later date and Item 6.1.0 was removed for separate consideration. The <br />motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br />6.1 Section — Motions - <br />A. Approve the Joint City Council and Redevelopment Agency meeting minutes of <br />August 13, 2007, and the Joint City Council and Redevelopment Agency meeting <br />minutes of August 27, 2007 as submitted. (301) MINUTE ORDER 07 -169 <br />B. Agency lease for vendor space 1 B; City license for food service in license area 1 B at <br />Courthouse Square. City Council /Redevelopment Agency Board <br />Recommendation: <br />1. Authorize, by motion, the Agency to execute a lease with Daily Boost LLC doing <br />business as "Daily Boost" for Lease Area 1 B in Courthouse Square <br />2.
