Work on personal projects is to be immediately foregone in case of an <br />emergency call. <br />25.9 Common Mess <br />All station meals will be conducted under a common mess with contributions by <br />each employee on a shift, even if the employee chooses not to eat the meal. <br />SECTION 26 — APPARATUS STAFFING <br />The City shall assign three (3) Fire Fighting personnel to operate each engine company, <br />four (4) Fire Fighting personnel to operate each ladder truck, two (2) Fire Fighting <br />personnel to operate each reserve truck, and one (1) Fire Fighting personnel to operate <br />each rescue truck dispatched for emergency service. <br />Depending on the number of personnel on duty, staffing for each station may vary. <br />Employees may refer to Lexipol Policy Manual Division 5, Article 5-7, and "Apparatus <br />Staffing." <br />It is agreed that reference to a minimum number of on -duty suppression personnel shall <br />be deleted from the departmental rules and all other City documents, and the requirement <br />to maintain any such minimum is no longer in effect. <br />SECTION 27 — PHYSICAL FITNESS PROGRAM <br />The City shall continue during the term of this MOU the mandatory Physical Fitness <br />Program for all Fire Fighter/Engineers and Fire Captains who are assigned to a twenty- <br />four (24) hour work shift. There shall be no cost to the City for the Physical Fitness <br />Program, and it shall normally be conducted between the hours of 0830 and 0930 hours, <br />but the company officer may determine other times for physical activity as needed. <br />The parties agree that the Safety Committee can establish guidelines on any prohibited <br />physical fitness activities. <br />SECTION 28 — DRUG-FREE FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES <br />The Parties agree that providing fire protection and emergency services to the community, <br />and the illegal use or possession by employees of drugs, are incompatible and <br />unacceptable. <br />It is the obligation of employees not to be impaired due to drug use when they are to <br />report for, or when they are on duty; not to possess illegal drugs or to possess prescription <br />drugs without a bona fide prescription during duty hours or while on City property; not to <br />directly or indirectly sell or provide impairing drugs to a fellow employee while either or <br />both employees are on duty, except in the proper course of providing emergency medical <br />55 <br />
