MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AND <br />SAN MATEO COUNTY FIRE FIGHTERS, <br />INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS <br />LOCAL 2400 <br />This Memorandum of Understanding (hereinafter MOU) is entered into pursuant to the <br />provisions of Section 3500 et. seq. of the Government Code of the State of California. <br />The parties have met and conferred in good faith regarding wages, hours and other terms <br />and conditions of employment for the employees in said representation unit, and have <br />freely exchanged information, opinions and proposals and have reached agreement on all <br />matters relating to the employment conditions and employer-employee relations of such <br />employees. <br />This MOU shall be presented to the City Council of the City of Redwood City as the joint <br />recommendation of the undersigned parties for salary and employee benefit adjustments <br />for the period commencing January 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2021. <br />SECTION 1 - RECOGNITION <br />1.1 Union Recognition <br />San Mateo County Fire Fighters, International Association of Fire Fighters Local <br />2400, hereinafter referred to as "the Union", has been recognized as the Majority <br />Representative, pursuant to the Employer -Employee Relations Resolution of the <br />City initially adopted August 7, 1972, and periodically revised subject to the <br />provisions of Government Code section 3507, for the permanent full-time <br />employees assigned to the classes set forth in this MOU. This unit of employees <br />shall for the purposes of identification be titled the "Fire Unit." <br />1.2 Employer Recognition <br />The City Manager is the representative of the City of Redwood City, hereinafter <br />referred to as "the City," in employer-employee relations pursuant to the <br />Employer -Employee Relations Resolution of the City adopted August 7, 1972. <br />
