17.2.4 Workers in Consumer Service Technician and Water Resources Technician classifications shall <br />receive a voucher for One Hundred Twenty -Five Dollars ($125.00) as needed toward the cost of <br />walking shoes/boots, orthopedic insoles, and ergonomic support inserts. Management shall <br />determine when the allowance is needed to replace shoes/boots. <br />ARTICLE 18 • HOLIDAYS <br />18.1 Recognized Holidays <br />Regular, full-time employees will receive eight (8) hours holiday pay per recognized holiday. Recognized <br />holidays are as follows: <br />New Years Day <br />Martin Luther King Jr. Day (observed on the third Monday in January) <br />Presidents' Day (observed on the third Monday in February) <br />Memorial Day (observed on the last Monday in May) <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day (observed on the first Monday in September) <br />Veterans Day (observed November 11) <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />The Day After Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />New Years Eve <br />Five (5) administrative holidays and such other days as may be proclaimed local holidays. Administrative <br />holidays may only be taken in eight (8) hour increments. At the option of the employee, an employee may <br />receive pay at the employee's straight -time rate of pay in lieu of one or more of the administrative holidays at <br />eight (8) hours per administrative holiday. In the event that one or more of the administrative holidays are not <br />used by the last pay period paid in the year (based on the preceding 26 pay periods), payment will be made <br />no later than the first pay period in February. <br />18.2 Weekend Holidays <br />When any of the above holidays falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered the holiday. When <br />any of the above holidays falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be considered the holiday. <br />Communication Dispatchers shall observe Independence Day, Veterans' Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, <br />New Years Eve and New Year's Day on the actual date of the holiday. <br />18.3 Work on a Holiday <br />Any employee who is required to work on any of the holidays, specified in Article 18.1.1 above shall, in addition <br />to regular pay for such holiday, be paid one and one-half (1.5) times his/her established rate of pay for all <br />hours actually worked on such holiday. <br />32 <br />
