61. - Page 4 of 5 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF ALL -WAY STOP SIGNS AT <br />THE INTERSECTION OF ROOSEVELT AVENUE AND FERNSIDE <br />STREET <br />WHEREAS, the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Manual) has been <br />adopted by the California Department of Transportation and by the City of Redwood City to <br />provide uniform standards for all traffic control devices; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 26.07 of the Manual states that the use of multi -way stop signs <br />should be based on an engineering study. One of the criteria which may be considered in the <br />study is whether there is an intersection of two residential neighborhood collector (through) streets <br />of similar design, traffic volume and operating characteristics where multi -way stop control would <br />improve traffic operational characteristics of the intersection; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff's investigation, as described in the staff report, has confirmed the <br />existence of this condition at the subject site. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Pursuant to the provisions of Section 20.34 of the Redwood City Code, the City <br />Manager is hereby authorized and directed to cause all -way stop signs to be installed and <br />maintained at intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Fernside Street. <br />ATTY/RESO.0082/CC RESO AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF ALL WAY STOP SIGNS —ROOSEVELT AVE & FERNSIDE STREET <br />REV: 08-06-19 PR <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />164 <br />
