6.N. - Page 1 of 10 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />Ago/ <br />DATE: August 26, 2019 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Water Connection and Service - 900 Fallen Leaf Way (APN 068-211-020), in unincorporated San Mateo <br />County, California <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution approving a request to the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) for extension <br />of water services outside jurisdictional boundaries to an undeveloped parcel at 900 Fallen Leaf Way (APN <br />068-211-020), in unincorporated San Mateo County, pursuant to Government Code Section 56133. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />The property at 900 Fallen Leaf Way (068-211-020) (the "Property") is within the City's water service area <br />and sphere of influence, but outside the City's jurisdictional boundaries. The Property is an undeveloped <br />parcel. The owners of the Property have applied to San Mateo County for a building permit to construct <br />a new single-family home. As a condition of approval, the County requires the property owner to secure <br />a new water connection and service from the City for the proposed residence. The City owns a water <br />main adequately sized to provide service to the proposed residence. <br />The City must receive LAFCO approval to provide water service to the Property.
