6.P. - Page 4 of 5 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF THE FISCAL YEAR 18/19 <br />REPORT OF COMPLIANCE WITH CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND <br />SAFETY CODE SECTION 13146.4 RELATING TO MANDATORY FIRE <br />INSPECTIONS <br />WHEREAS, in 2018 the California State Legislature adopted SB 1205, pertaining <br />to compliance reporting of mandatory inspections pursuant to California Health and <br />Safety Code ("Health and Safety Code") Sections 13146.2 and 12146.3; and <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 13146.2 requires the Redwood City <br />Fire Department ("Fire Department") to perform annual inspections of all hotels, motels, <br />apartment houses, buildings, and structures accessory thereto within its jurisdiction; and <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 13146.3 requires the Fire <br />Department to perform annual inspections on every building used as a public or private <br />school within its jurisdiction; and <br />WHEREAS, Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 13146.4, the Fire <br />Department is now required to annually report compliance with Health and Safety Code <br />Sections 13146.2 and 12146.3 to its administering authority; and <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 13146.4 defines an administering <br />authority as a city council, county board of supervisors, or district board, as the case <br />may be; and <br />WHEREAS, the Fire Department reported its FY 18/19 compliance with Health <br />and Safety Code Sections 13146.3 and 12146.3 to the City Council of the City of <br />Redwood City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are hereby <br />incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br />2. The City Council of the City of Redwood City acknowledges receipt of the <br />mandatory reporting on compliance with Healthy and Safety Code Sections 13146.2 <br />and 12146.3 for Fiscal Year 18/19, attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated by <br />reference, as is required by Health and Safety Code Section 13146.4. <br />3.
