5. SPECIAL ORDERS: Proclamation — Energy Awareness Month — Malcolm Smith, Public Communications Manager and Beth Ross, Community Climate Protection Specialist 6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR - CITY COUNCIL Linda Jolley stated that the last time she spoke at the Council meeting of the countless homeless people in the community and asked why the Council did not know of the problem. She stated that there will be consequences, citing a homeless man who was cited by a police officer even though he told the officer that there is no place for him to go with room for him. She referred to a similar occurrence in Los Angeles where the ruling favored the homeless. M/S Ira /Foust to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. Item 6.1.0 was removed for separate consideration and vote and a correction to Item 6.1.A was requested by Council Member Bain. The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. 6.1 Section — Motions - A. Approve the Joint City Council and Redevelopment Agency meeting minutes of September 24, 2007. (301) Council Member Bain requested a correction to the vote tally of Item 8.B. MINUTE ORDER 07 -179 B. Subdivision Approval — "Brewster Villas" (532 — 542 Brewster Avenue) Recommendation: Approve, by motion, the Subdivision Map for Brewster Villas and accept the dedications.
