Overall it looks good:
1. This revision has more flexibility which is great, though I think having a finite number of suggested flavors
would greatly simplify things - though you may have done that and I didn't see it on the printout.
2. I noticed the default program is limited to business hours (or similar). I realize this is an artifact of its origin
to manage business parking, but given that the program is for residential areas I don't think this makes sense any
more. At least in Friendly Acres, our crunch is the worst in the evenings and the weekends. given that this is a
once in 35 year attempt to revise the program, I think it should be bolder and address the issue of a very strong
demand for a very valuable resource and anticipate that this is only going to get worse. The defaults could be
revised to include three options: 8 - 5, 7 - 6 or 24/7.
3. The default language is also still for 3/address. Again, given the thrust of the national conversation around
housing, and the repeated laws in Sacramento calling for increased units per plot, I think a per plot program will
age much better. Our neighborhood voted on per address or per plot and the clear winner was per plot. There
was a tie between 2 or 3 per plot. I suggest 2 per single family plot and 3 where there is more than one address.
This is a limited resource and the program will completely break down if any of the housing bills in Sacramento
pass.
Those are the main things. I hope that we can revise though I realize it's Sunday night.
All the best,
Bella
On Sun, Sep 8, 2019 at 5:31 PM Isabella Chu <isabella.t.chnggmail.com> wrote:
Looking now.
