6.D. - Page 1 of 13 <br />r _� — <br />L Mjh- <br />cityCalifornia <br />J Faunded1867 <br />'Q� <br />DATE: September 23, 2019 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Amendment to the general services agreement between the City of Redwood City and Downtown Streets, <br />Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to sign amendment No. 1 to the general services <br />agreement between the City of Redwood City and Downtown Streets, Inc. to amend the scope of work, <br />with the total not to exceed contract amount to remain at $757,328. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Housing <br />BACKGROUND <br />On August 1, 2019, the City of Redwood City entered into an agreement with the non-profit organization <br />Downtown Streets, Inc., for services related to the creation of a program that provides volunteer work <br />experience opportunities for people experiencing homelessness in Redwood City. The parties have <br />negotiated and agreed to an amendment to the Agreement to modify the terms of the Scope of Work as <br />described in the Agreement and its attached Exhibit A. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The Scope of Work, as described in the original Agreement and its attached Exhibit A, included a <br />requirement that the volunteers, as part of their regular duties, look for and report on certain unsafe <br />conditions on City property.
