• Maria Diaz Vivian <br />• Janet Lin <br />• Matt Larson <br />• Connie Guerrero/Violeta Ortega <br />• Anna Skordino <br />Motion and second (Masur/Hale) to close the public hearing passes <br />unanimously by voice vote. <br />At 10:57 p.m. a motion and second (Howard/Hale) to continue the meeting to <br />11:15 p.m. passes unanimously by voice vote. <br />At 11:10 p.m. a motion and second (Howard/Borgens) to continue the meeting <br />to 11:30 p.m. passes unanimously by voice vote. <br />Recommendation: <br />Waive the first reading and introduce Zoning Ordinance Amendments limiting <br />the impacts of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) built over detached garages, <br />incentivizing one-story ADUs, and making other miscellaneous amendments; <br />and <br />OPTION: The City Council may also consider adoption of an urgency ordinance <br />(effective immediately) for the Zoning Ordinance Amendments limiting the <br />impacts of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) built over detached garages, <br />incentivizing one-story ADUs, and making other miscellaneous amendments. <br />(Requires an affirmative vote of six (6) Councilmembers) (602) Ord (489) <br />Motion and second by Masur/Hale to waive first reading and introduce Zoning <br />Ordinance amendments as recommended with the following specific <br />modifications: <br />Section 2(d) of 37.3C: Second story maximum height of 23 feet with 5 feet extra <br />to accommodate pitch of roof and complement architecture of home. <br />Section 2(d)1: No more than 576 sq. ft. of accessory dwelling unit shall be <br />constructed over a detached garage. <br />Councilmember Reddy offered the following friendly amendment: <br />Section 2(d) of 37.3C: Second story maximum height of 20 feet plus extra roof <br />height at the discretion of the Zoning Administrator to accommodate pitch of <br />roof and complement architecture of home. Councilmembers Masur and Hale <br />accepted the amendment. <br />The motion as amended passes 6-1 by electronic vote with Vice Mayor Howard <br />opposed. <br />1♦ <br />Page 8 of 9 <br />
