04/12/2010 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15015 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REWOOD CITY <br />APPROPRIATING $5,848 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED FUND BALANCE <br />TO ACCOUNT NO. 250.62131.40 FOR COPS /SLEF GRANT FUNDS <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE POLICE CHIEF TO EXPEND $105, 848 OF <br />COPS /SLEF FUNDS <br />WHEREAS, the on March 22, 2010, the City Council held a public hearing to <br />consider the expenditure of Citizens Option for public Safety /Supplemental Law <br />Enforcement Services Funds (COPS /SLEF) grant funds in the amount of $105, 848.00; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council finds that the proposed expenditures will be for <br />supplemental police services as authorized by the grant and will not supplant existing <br />funding; and <br />WHEREAS, $100,000 has been appropriated and an additional $5, 848 needs to <br />be appropriated; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The Police Chief is authorized to expend $108, 548.00 of COPS /SLEF funds <br />for police training, police boat operations, purchase of electronic surveillance and <br />tracking equipment, and purchase of police tactical equipment.
