10/25/2010 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15061 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF <br />STOP SIGNS ON ALTAMONT WAY AND LAUREL WAY <br />AT THE INTERSECTION WITH HIGHLAND AVENUE <br />WHEREAS, Section 213.04 Subsection 04, of the Manual of Uniform <br />Traffic Control Devices, states the use of Yield or Stop signs should be <br />considered at intersections of two minor streets or local roads where the <br />intersection has more than three approaches and the ability to see conflicting <br />traffic on an approach is not sufficient to allow a road user to stop or yield in <br />compliance with the normal right -of -way rule if such stopping or yielding is <br />necessary; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff's investigation has confirmed the existence of this <br />condition at the subject site. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 20.34 of the Redwood City <br />Code, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to cause stop signs to <br />be installed and maintained on Altamont Way and Laurel Way at the intersection <br />with Highland Avenue. <br />ATTY /RESO /RESO.2057 #15061 <br />10/25/10 MUFF # 701 <br />
