12/21/2010 <br /> WHEREAS, Section 33220 of the Community Redevelopment Law provides, in <br /> part, that for the purpose of aiding and cooperating in the planning, undertaking, <br /> construction or operation of redevelopment projects located within its jurisdiction, any <br /> public body, upon the terms and with or without consideration as it determines, may sell, <br /> convey or lease any of its property to a redevelopment agency; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 33391(a) of the Community Redevelopment Law provides, <br /> in part, that within the survey area or for purposes of redevelopment an agency may <br /> acquire by gift, grant, bequest, devise or otherwise any real or personal property, any <br /> interest in property, and any improvements on it; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to assist the Agency in carrying out the goals and objectives <br /> of the Redevelopment Plan within the downtown area, City wishes to convey, by grant <br /> deed, the City Strips Property to Agency so that Agency may subsequently convey such <br /> land to the County to facilitate development of the Replacement Jail Facilities on the <br /> Woodhouse Industrial Park Property; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The City Council hereby approves and authorizes conveyance, by <br /> grant deed, of the City Strips Property to the Agency for subsequent conveyance to the <br /> County of San Mateo in order to assist the Agency in carrying out the goals and <br /> objectives of the Redevelopment Plan for the downtown area. <br /> Section 2. The City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed <br /> to execute and record such documents, in forms approved by the City Attorney, and <br /> take such further actions as are necessary to carry out conveyance of the City Strips <br /> Property to the Agency. <br /> * * <br /> ATTY /RESO /RESO.2075 #15074 <br /> 120810 2 MUFF #401 <br />
