01/24/2011
Exhibit B
7. Actively encourage and promote the preservation of Redwood City's
historic resources to the greatest degree feasible.
8. Create a network of eat public open spaces linked to each other,
' p p en p
housing, jobs, and adjacent neighborhoods by attractive and walkable tree -lined
streets.
9. Provide a choice of "convenience living" — a balanced and synergistic mix
of employment opportunities and a range of well - designed rental and for -sale
housing types in close proximity to entertainment, restaurants, special events,
shopping and public services, and to public transportation options to reach other
communities and San Francisco International Airport.
10. Make the DPP area one of the premier entertainment destinations of the
Peninsula.
11. Encourage the continued development of a modern workplace district and
"vital community center" featuring settings which foster informal meetings and
idea exchange that enhance creativity and productivity — in close proximity to
cafes, restaurants, meeting halls, and art and cultural resources.
12. Create a model of transit integration featuring a convenient transit station
at the center (rather than at the edge) of the DPP area, seamlessly connected to
Broadway, Courthouse Square, El Camino Real, and adjacent neighborhoods —
and so well - integrated into the activity patterns, viewsheds, and pathways of the
DPP area, that the train becomes the primary mode of transportation chosen by
the commuting daytime and evening populations within walking distance of the
station.
13. Utilize modern streetcars as a means of convenient circulation within the
DPP area, as well as a way to connect the DPP area and the Caltrain station to
adjacent districts and transit hubs.
14. Make pedestrian comfort, safety, and convenience a priority.
15. Integrate more bicycle routes, storage, and bicycle - friendly improvements
into the DPP area.
16. Plan, manage, and operate the overall supply of parking, both privately
and publicly owned, so as to provide "just enough" parking at the right price to
serve the needs of people living, working, and visiting the DPP area — and to
organize well -lit, aesthetically pleasing, well- maintained, and unobtrusive parking
facilities in relation to the DPP area's offerings to create a "park once and walk"
district.
B.
