CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> ASSISTANT PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR — MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS <br /> (Continuedl <br /> Evaluate operational effectiveness in public works field operations; plan and <br /> implement improvements. <br /> 7 <br /> Supervise the work of others, including planning, directing, monitoring and <br /> evaluating staff. <br /> Select, train and evaluate professional and technical staff. <br /> Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. <br /> Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working reiationships <br /> with those contacted in the course of work. <br /> Operate a motor vehicle safely. <br /> Experience and Trainina Guidelines: <br /> Any combination of experience and training that would like/y provide the <br /> required knowledge and abilities is quali(ying. A typical way to obtain the <br /> knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> Experience: <br /> Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the management of <br /> maintenance operations functions, including sign�cant experience at the <br /> management or supervisory level. <br /> Traininq: <br /> Equivalent to a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university <br /> with major course work in public administration, business administration, <br /> or a related field. <br /> License or Certificate: <br /> Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license. <br /> Saecial Repuirements: <br /> Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment: <br /> Ability to work in a standard office environment with some ability to travel to <br /> different locations. <br /> RESO. # 15174 <br /> MUFF # 903 <br />
