09/10/2012 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15209 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AMENDING BOOK 11 OF THE DOWNTOWN PRECISE PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, on January 24, 2011, the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br /> adopted the Downtown Precise Plan by Resolution No. 15087; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Downtown Precise Plan was created for the purpose of reviving <br /> the heart of Redwood City, and sets forth the primary means of regulating land use and <br /> development in the City's Downtown Precise Plan Area; and <br /> WHEREAS, during the first year of implementation a need has been identified for <br /> an update to allow for additional clarity, improved flexibility, and alternative land use <br /> designations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed amendment to Book II (Development Regulations) of <br /> the Downtown Precise Plan updates the necessary provisions to allow for the additional <br /> clarity, improved flexibility, and alternative land use designations; and <br /> WHEREAS, on April 3, 2012 and May 1, 2012, the Planning Commission held <br /> duly noticed public hearings and recommended that the City Council adopt the <br /> proposed Downtown Precise Plan amendment upon finding that the proposed <br /> Downtown Precise Plan amendment is in the public interest and consistent with the <br /> Redwood City General Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, a notice of public hearing on the proposed Downtown Precise Plan <br /> amendment was mailed to all properties within a 300-foot radius of the area affected by <br /> the amendment, and was duly published in the Daily News 10 days prior to the public <br /> hearing; and <br /> WHEREAS, on May 21, 2012 and September 10, 2012, the City Council held <br /> public hearings on the proposed Precise Plan Amendment; and <br /> WHEREAS, at the public hearings, the City Council considered the whole of the <br /> record. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES <br /> RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1.
