Currently PG&E offers a rebate of up to $0.20 per square foot for cool roof <br /> installations and $0.15 per square foot of attic and wall installation installed. Additionally, PG&E <br /> has rebates for homeowners who upgrade their home's heating and cooling systems. Rebates <br /> are available for installing energy efficient furnaces (up to $300), air conditioning units (up to <br /> $50) and whole house fans (up to $100). Finally, PG&E will provide up to $400 in rebates to <br /> customers who test and seal their home's duct system. <br /> Local Energy Programs <br /> Acterra's High Energy Homes Project <br /> http://www.acterra.orq/proarams/hiqhenerqy/index.html <br /> Acterra's High Energy Homes project helps residents in homes with high PG&E bills to analyze <br /> and identify costly energy "leaks" that provide little or no value. Through a free on-line analysis <br /> of your PG&E bill data, the program creates an energy profile for your home and highlights low- <br /> cost energy-saving opportunities that can significantly reduce your bills and conserve energy. <br /> The audit starts online via a secure website. A home visit may be scheduled if the data from <br /> your home's energy profile presents an unusual pattern. <br /> California Youth Energy Services <br /> http:/lwww.risinqsunenerav.orq <br /> Since 2000, Rising Sun Energy Center has run CYES, a summer youth employment and <br /> community efficiency retrofit program in the Bay Area. CYES hires young people (ages 15-22) <br /> and trains them to become Energy Specialists, serving their communities with a FREE Green <br /> House Call. Energy Specialists install free energy and water saving devices, and provide <br /> personalized recommendations and education for further savings in homes. CYES provides <br /> services to all community members regardless of income. However, it was designed to serve <br /> hard-to-reach residents including renters, non-English speaking households, and low-moderate <br /> income households. It provides youth with opportunities for training and meaningful <br /> employment; which are often not adequately available to them.
