06/24/2013 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 15275 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY CONTROLLER TO LEVY THE BENEFIT ASSESSMENTS FOR FY 2013-2014 FOR THE REDWOOD SHORES LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1995-1 AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR TO COLLECT SUCH ASSESSMENTS WHEREAS, on July 28, 1997, voters of the Redwood Shores Landscape Maintenance District 1995-1 (the "District") approved, by a vote of 89.4% yes to 10.6% no, the levy of a special tax, the amount of such tax to be annually calculated in accordance with the formula set forth in the City Manager's and City Engineer's Reports approved by Resolution No. 13107 adopted June 9, 1997, and confirmed by Resolution No. 13377 adopted June 29, 1998, on each non-exempt parcel of land in the District; and WHEREAS, the maximum benefit assessment for fiscal year 2013-2014 is $219,517.50; and WHEREAS, the District has the need of the services of the offices of the San Mateo County Controller and Tax Collector in levying and collecting the special tax. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA AS FOLLOWS: 1. The above recitals are all true and correct. 2. The City Council of the City of Redwood City hereby respectfully requests and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax Controller to include individual tax assessments in the County tax bills for the fiscal year 2013-2014 in accordance with the documents supplied by the District and authorizes the San Mateo County Tax Collector to collect the taxes at the same time and in the same manner as the general County taxes are collected. 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. 4.
