07/22/2013 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 15287 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AMENDING THE DOWNTOWN PRECISE PLAN WHEREAS, on January 24, 2011, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted the Downtown Precise Plan by Resolution No. 2093; and WHEREAS, the Downtown Precise Plan was created for the purpose of reviving the heart of Redwood City, and sets forth the primary means of regulating land use and development in the City's Downtown Precise Plan Area; and WHEREAS, during the first two years of implementation a need has been identified for an update to allow for additional clarity and improved flexibility, and to adapt to changes in the plans for the future nature of the Caltrain railway; and WHEREAS, the proposed amendment to the Downtown Precise Plan updates the necessary provisions to allow for the additional clarity and improved flexibility, and to remove the Theatre Way extension and Depot Circle concept to adapt to changes in the plans for the future nature of the Caltrain railway (Downtown Precise Plan Amendment); and WHEREAS, on July 2, 2013, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing, in accordance with all applicable requirements of the Redwood City Municipal Code, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance and the Downtown Precise Plan, on the proposed Downtown Precise Plan Amendment; and WHEREAS, on July 2, 2013, the Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. 13-11 recommending that the City Council adopt the Downtown Precise Plan Amendment; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the proposed Downtown Precise Plan amendment is in the public interest and consistent with the Redwood City General Plan.
